Feeding the World and Sustainable Agriculture



This article from the Canberra Times examines what will be required to feed the World in the future. Given widespread land degradation, water shortages and issues related to climate change, the authors pose the question: "How do we increase agricultural productivity and yet protect the natural assets that underpin future production?" Agriculture needs to be seen as being part of an ecosystem. Biological processes will need to supplant synthetic ones.
