Agriculture, Food Security and the Future
Ela Bhatt, founder of the Self Employed Women's Association makes an eloquent and reasoned plea for a return to a food system that is grounded on place. Food as a commodity has been a disaster for the economy, environment and to our deeper connection with the earth. Bhatt asks if food can be reduced to a business and trade opportunity. One possible solution is the 100 mile principle that weaves decentralisation, locality, size and scale with livelihood of agriculture.
