Investment for Agriculture

A recently released report from the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) projects a significant increase in malnutrition in developing countries over the next decade. The world financial crisis has had a devastating effect on poor countries. Investment in agriculture continues to decline. The IFPRI report proposes three policy actions that might turn the situation around including promoting pro-poor agricultural growth; reducing market volatility; and expanding social protection and child nutrition action.
