Urban Agriculture Initiatives in Seattle

What can city governments do to support urban agriculture? In the case of Seattle, quite a lot. The city government has designated 2010 as the year for urban agriculture. Zoning changes will make it easier for backyard growers to grow and more importantly, sell food. As well a pilot program of creating 10 urban farms within city limits is planned.
